The Randolph Air Force Base Transportation Management Plan (TMP) comprises a set of efforts to identify strategic actions necessary to meet current needs at the installation, as well as to prepare for future growth. A traffic engineering study was undertaken as part of this plan to assess current road and traffic patterns at the installation and determine current capabilities. This report summarizes those efforts and provides recommendations for short-term solutions to existing problems as well as long-term solutions for accommodating future developments at the installation.
This TMP was conducted using relevant federal planning policies and pre-established development plans as a framework to analyze the current needs and future capacity of Randolph AFB. It provides additional recommendations for enhancing the safety of historic roadways, reducing commute times, enhancing pedestrian infrastructure, and mitigating transportation conflicts in dense functional areas.
