The overall reason for this report of the existing 54-inch sanitary sewer line was to survey the current condition and lateral flows to ascertain what rehabilitative technology can be utilized to continue operation of the sewer main and determine the best course of action.
This report has been compiled to provide the physical condition of the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) owned 54-inch diameter sanitary sewer line to determine the cost and feasibility for Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) – Lackland Air Force Base (LAFB) to construct a new sanitary sewer conveyance system to convey the local Lackland facility’s sewage flows. Alternative recommendations with means and methods analysis for constructing the new sewage conveyance system are provided, with additional remediation efforts that may be necessary if issues occur during construction. Finally, a conclusion section explains the opinion of the LDG/TMS team for what is the best course of action (COA) for completing the new sanitary sewer conveyance system out of the three alternative recommendations provided.
