For this project, Larson Design Group (LDG) provided design and construction services for rehabilitation of the existing 205’-4″ long thru-truss bridge over Lycoming Creek.
LDG completed structural design services for the rehab of the truss, which included replacing the non-composite concrete deck with a composite deck, removal and replacement of the end floorbeams, replacement of the rivets with bolts on the gusset plate connections, and pot bearing design.
LDG analyzed the truss with both BAR7 and STAAD to get the proposed load ratings and determine the load carrying capacity of the truss, its members, and connections.
LDG coordinated with the PennDOT District 3-0 bridge unit throughout the design and construction process as the final design and construction of this existing truss rehabilitation evolved.
