The F-35A Integrated Training Center Academics Building at Eglin Air Force Base is a new 85,510 SF facility that includes academic classrooms, virtual trainers, various aircraft mockups and administrative/operations areas.
We provided architecture/interior design, landscape architecture, civil and structural engineering for the design-build delivery of the new $31 million building. Services included designing new utility systems, landscaping, parking, access roads, and stormwater management while supporting permitting activities associated with the FAA and Florida DEP for water, sewer and stormwater management systems. We also designed the structural system for the project consisting of a sloped standing seam metal roof supported by exterior load bearing concrete “tilt-up” walls and internally with a combination of load bearing concrete “tilt-up” walls and steel superstructure, on a shallow foundation system.
