LDG provided construction inspection and administration services for the Greenfield Bridge replacement project, including verifying material quantities and certifications, ensuring the work being performed was in accordance with the plans, applicable codes, and specifications, and verifying invoices for payment. This project included the demolition and reconstruction of a 600-foot long bridge over I-376 in the city of Pittsburgh’s Greenfield community. The new bridge is a nine-span steel, single-arch bridge. Work items such as demolition and beam erection necessitated the closure of I-376 overnight and weekends. This required close coordination with PennDOT personnel, local authorities, as well as the state, city, and county police. This bridge is also a main route to the Pittsburgh community of Oakland, which includes numerous medical facilities, the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and Carlow University. Therefore, the maintenance and protection of traffic, as well as the detour routes were critical.
