The KC-46A Systems Integration Lab is an approximately 49,600 SF, 2-story facility built inside Building 9001 at Tinker Air Force Base (AFB) constructed using new drilled piers and an independent structural steel framing system. The facility includes lab space with engineering development workstations, an integration and test laboratory, computer rooms with raised flooring, and a high bay area for system mockups. Special power and cooling systems were installed for specialized lab equipment. The lab areas also included standalone benches and multiple smaller integration labs with sufficient capacity for all KC-46A software sustainment and modernization. The facility features include classified security systems, wiring, and communication lines. The facility also complies with DOD force protection construction standards. Design included communications support, administration and support area, all necessary utilities, electrical and HVAC. This project complied with all Department of Defense construction standards.
