GIS in Water/Wastewater

LDG approaches water and wastewater infrastructure from a systems-thinking perspective, connecting every component to create smart, efficient networks. As an Esri Utility Network (UN) Certified Partner, we add enhanced capabilities to utility mapping and management, with a particular emphasis on water and wastewater infrastructure. We integrate the data into preexisting schemes, utilizing lines, connections, inlets, laterals, and manholes to populate key features such as elevation, slope, and connectivity. We then build these systems into powerful analytical tools to solve problems and extract information—for example, upstream tracing to identify affected structures during planned maintenance or emergencies. These connections extend all the way to service addresses, enabling proactive communication with residents and streamlined service outage notifications. By visualizing infrastructure in this way, municipalities can track assets in real time and identify aging infrastructure, recurring concerns, and long-term patterns, allowing our clients to develop actionable insights that support better decision-making, improve service reliability, and strategically plan for the future.
