Brighton Township Sewage Authority Engineering Services

Larson Design Group (LDG) currently provides multi-discipline planning engineering services to the Brighton Township Sewage Authority (the authority) in Brighton Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Examples of the types of projects LDG has completed for the authority include:

Developer Plan Submission Technical Reviews

LDG provides on-going support reviewing development plans submitted to the BTSA for approval for conformance with BTSA standards. LDG also provides BTSA with construction observation and testing services during construction to document work being completed in the field.

Two Mile Run Interceptor Sewer Inspection

LDG prepared the contract and bid documents for CCTV and manhole inspections along this important section of BTSA’s gravity collection system in Two Mile Run Park. The work provided a current condition assessment of the interceptor sewer and the contractor and served as a basis for targeted point repairs to failing sections of the interceptor system in the area. LDG reviewed the CCTV and manhole inspection reports and prepared a recommendation for targeted point and manhole repairs to address the I/I that was observed in this segment of the collection system. LDG worked with BTSA to select the contractor for the project and then administered the contact, reviewing and approving pay applications, addressing requests for information, and worked with the contractor and BTSA to keep the project on the tight schedule.

Dawson Ridge Pump Station Upgrades

LDG worked with BTSA to secure over $261,000 in grant funds from the PA Small Water and Sewer Program to offset the cost to upgrade this critical pump station in the BTSA collection system. On behalf of BTSA, LDG prepared the bidding documents for this project, including the design upgrade drawings and specifications, also prepared by LDG and initially submitted to secure the grant.

Little Beaver Sanitary Sewer and Manhole Repair Upgrades

Nineteen manholes were selected for rehabilitation after maintenance personnel performed field inspections. LDG also designed gravity sewer pipe replacements using pipe-bursting techniques to repair 1,425 linear feet of the gravity collection system in the area. Rehabilitation techniques included repairing/plugging existing I/I leaks with expanding urethane grout and coating the manholes with a hydrogen sulfide inhibitor.

Seven Oaks Forcemain Rehabilitation Project

This project involved the rehabilitation of approximately 1,800 linear feet of sanitary sewer force main from the Lisbon Road Pump Station to the ARV manhole at Darlington and Tuscarawas Roads. The project also included rehabilitation of approximately 2,370 linear feet of sanitary sewer gravity line in the Little Beaver Subdivision. LDG worked with BTSA to select the contractor for the project and then administered the contact, reviewing and approving pay applications, addressing requests for information, and worked with the contractor to keep the project on schedule.
