Milton High School Athletic Stadium Improvements

Milton Borough, PA

Larson Design Group (LDG) provided surveying, geotechnical, and civil engineering services for the reconstruction of the Milton High School athletic stadium in Milton Area School District, in the Borough of Milton, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. The new athletic complex was designed to serve 628 students in grades 9-12, includes stadium lights, bleachers, a concession stand, ticket booths, locker rooms for both home and visitors, and restrooms. It features an artificial turf playing surface, an eight-lane track, long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin pit, scoreboard, and press box. The stadium is lined for football, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and field hockey competitions, and is accessible for all other sports. Additionally, the complex provides a venue for the marching band to practice, host tournaments, and perform, and is used for physical education classes, scheduled youth competitions, and community wellness activities.

LDG prepared Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications during final design and construction services, including an updated construction estimate, bidding administration support, and construction contract services. This encompassed reviewing site/civil shop drawings, recommending change orders, conducting bi-weekly inspections, and managing progress payment requests. Upon substantial completion, LDG developed a punch list and oversaw the submission of a Notice of Termination for the NPDES permit.
