The Town of Bloomsburg saw a need for additional recreational fields and wanted to utilize a newly purchased property located in the floodplain of the Susquehanna River. Larson Design Group (LDG) assisted the Town by revising a previously prepared master plan to reduce costs, integrate an existing soccer field, and to allow for construction phasing. Since the site includes known archaeological resources, further design revisions were coordinated to ensure those resources where not disturbed. LDG assisted the Town in developing the scope for phase I construction based on available funding.
This project included the demolition of an existing restroom facility and replacement with a new, 300 sqft pre-cast concrete modular restroom facility with separate mens and womens restrooms and a separate secure utility room.
LDG provided full design, permitting, bidding, and contract administration services during the length of the project. Permitting included obtaining a PADEP Chapter 106 water obstruction and encroachment permit and an NPDES permit for earth disturbance activities. Utilizing PA DCNR Funding and Community Development Block Grant funding, LDG assisted the Town in coordinating funding requirements and obtaining agency approval to proceed to construction.
