Larson Design Group (LDG) assisted the Central Columbia Educational Foundation, in partnership with the Central Columbia School District in the creation of a new community asset to strengthen the District’s athletic programs, provide a venue for wellness initiatives through physical education classes, and encourage community wellness by providing full access to the community. This project was 100% funded through private donations.
Project included conceptual design phase to define scope and scale of project and set project budget. Final design included full design and permitting services for the construction of a artificial turf surface for football, soccer, and field hockey and a 6-lane all weather track surface. Features also include expanded pedestrian walkways, under-turf storm water management system and a donor’s recognition plaza.
LDG provided full design services to guide the Foundation and District through concept planning, budgeting, permitting, and contract administration. Project permitting required the installation of an underground storm water management area which utilizes soil infiltration to meet permit requirements. Design specifications allowed for alternative turf manufacturers to ensure the most economical product selection.
LDG provided full bidding and contract administration to ensure the project maintained its tight construction schedule and to guarantee completion prior to the beginning of the school year. Our services included coordination of bi-weekly construction meetings and coordination meetings at critical points of construction and review to ensure construction was in accordance with the project’s tight specification tolerances.
