Midwest City Middle School Addition

The new 37,214-square-foot, two-story addition to Midwest City Middle School supports the school’s transition from a junior high to a middle school model while accommodating increased enrollment resulting from district consolidation. The addition houses the school’s sixth-grade center and includes flexible classrooms, a teacher’s lounge, band room, art room, and gymnasium that doubles as a storm shelter.

Designed with younger students in mind, the sixth-grade center creates a dedicated environment to help ease the transition into middle school. Flexible learning spaces support a variety of classroom arrangements, while specialized spaces for art, music, and athletics provide students with opportunities beyond the traditional classroom.
