Midwest City Elementary and Soldier Creek Elementary

Mid-Del Public Schools

These two identical schools replace four aging, inefficient schools.  The Owner wanted the schools to be traditional, fun and Oklahoma-themed.  Using the state song – Oklahoma! – for inspiration, the building includes references to fields of wheat, wind, rain, and hawks.  A round, red barn is visible from the front entry.  Animal shapes from various state ecoregions are located in each grade pod.

Each building accommodates 900 students:  grades PreK-2 occupy the ground floor under the leadership of one principal, while grades 3-5 reside on the upper floor under the leadership of another principal.  Grade levels are organized in pods of six classrooms each.
