LDG provided Architectural Design and Project Management services for a new 30,482-square-foot single-story gymnasium for Medford High School, designed according to Type IIB construction standards. Its exterior showcases a blend of finishes on insulated cold-formed metal framing, topped with a sleek structural prefinished metal standing seam roof over the gymnasium and entry vestibule. Other areas feature a single-ply membrane roof, supported spread and continuous shallow foundations.

Inside, the entrance lobby sets an inviting tone, enhanced by a display case and specialized lighting fixtures. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls provide clear views of the gym, allowing fans to catch glimpses of the action as they arrive. Porcelain ceramic tile adds elegance to the lobby and hospitality area, which is perfectly positioned to host gatherings fans before and after games.

The trainer’s room features warm wood floors and includes an ice maker and a residential washer/dryer for quick turnarounds during events. Additionally, a multi-purpose room, equipped with a smart board and CAT6 connectivity, offers versatile space for meetings or team briefings, and large glass windows for game and practice viewing. The facility’s design also includes sealed concrete in various storage and utility rooms, walk-off carpet in entry areas, rubber stair treads, and rubber flooring on the upper-level walkway, creating a safe and accessible environment for everyone. With dedicated locker rooms for athletes and essential mechanical and electrical rooms all interconnected by corridors and vestibules, this gym ensures a seamless flow throughout the space, promising an exciting experience for teams, fans, and spectators alike.
