The new approximately 96,000-square-foot Adelaide Lee-Shidler Elementary School replaces the existing school while preserving its neighborhood location and incorporating the existing gymnasium/storm shelter. The new school includes a three-story classroom wing for Pre-K through fourth grade and special education, along with administrative spaces, a cafeteria and kitchen, media center, STEAM and art studios, and flexible learning areas.

Designed around flexibility, collaboration, and community, the school features a light-filled central “Main Street” that connects learning and shared spaces throughout the building. Classroom floors incorporate collaborative zones and breakout spaces that create smaller “neighborhoods” within the school, while the centrally located two-story media center, STEAM studio, and art studio form a hub for creativity and innovation with views of the downtown Oklahoma City skyline.
