Del City Middle School Addition

The new 32,667-square-foot, two-story addition to Del City Middle School supports the school’s transition from a junior high to a middle school model while accommodating increased enrollment resulting from district consolidation. The addition houses the school’s sixth-grade center and includes classrooms, a teacher’s lounge, and a gymnasium that doubles as a storm shelter.

Designed to help younger students transition into middle school, the sixth-grade center provides a dedicated learning environment tailored to their needs. The project also repurposed the school’s former wrestling room into a new band room, expanding opportunities for music education while making efficient use of existing space.
