For this quickly growing retailer, schedule is paramount. In August 2014, LDG hit the ground running, becoming a go-to manager for the designing and permitting of this firm’s northeast development. In addition to providing engineering services, LDG is the local liaison for all regulatory and municipal coordination as well as building, food, and other uncommon development requirements. Dollar General stores are typically located on a 1.5-acre site and include a 9,100-square-foot commercial retail store along with parking, stormwater management facilities, and other amenities.

This project included:

• shared access driveway to serve the development of adjacent lot, which the owner of the property is currently marketing for development
• coordination and installation of a 10,000-gallon underground fire cistern as required by the local fire chief in this rural location

LDG was also responsible for securing a zoning change on the property and parking variances at a public hearing.
