Larson Design Group (LDG) provided wetland, survey, and permitting work for the 8.5-mile Blossburg and Gleason natural gas pipeline in Tioga County.
LDG and the owner worked closely with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) in all aspects of routing and permitting of the project.
Since this project crosses the Tioga River, LDG developed a detailed Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD). Once submitted, the owner decided to change the plan and open cut the river. LDG again worked with both DCNR and Pennsylvania Department of Protection (DEP) to scout a proper location to cross with an open cut. This location was quickly approved by both DCNR and DEP. LDG analyzed the flow in the river and sized pipes to prepare a detailed flume-type crossing to allow the river to be crossed quickly at a minimal cost to the client.
