Lidl, the German-based global discount supermarket chain, has selected Larson Design Group to provide architectural design and consulting services as it continues its expansion into the United States in 2018.
Lidl plans to open 20 U.S. stores this year, with a focus on urban areas throughout the mid-Atlantic U.S., some of which will be located within established shopping centers.
LDG’s national Retail Design Division is led by Robert Gehr, AIA, and the Lidl program will be managed by David Balzer, AIA, LEED AP. LDG’s team has served clients with more than 5,000 stores across the US, tackling a wide range of new store rollouts, expansions and remodels. The team also guides clients on how to refine prototypes, maximize efficiencies and create higher degrees of brand awareness, and streamlines information sharing and decision making by incorporating innovations such as 3D visualization, virtual reality and cloud project management technologies.
LDG ranks 30th on Building Design+Construction’s Giants 300 List of the nation’s top retail architecture firms, is a Top 25 International Retail Design firm as ranked by VMSD magazine and was named by Zweig White as one of the Best Firms to Work For in 2017.
