LDG provided site/civil and structural engineering for a 4-story, 112,000-square-foot addition to Evangelical Community Hospital in Kelly Township, Pennsylvania. The addition includes a first-floor waiting area; café and gift shop; central registration area; infusion; pre-admission care; lab services; X-ray, and shell space. The second floor includes a 28-bed medical/surgical unit. The third floor features a 16-bed step down unit and a 12-bed ICU. The fourth floor is a built-out shell to accommodate future growth. The project also included the renovation of a 20,000-square-foot space that included flex, observation, and orthopedic units. The work was done as part of the $72 million PRIME (Patient Room Improvement, Modernization, and Enhancement) project, the largest construction project in the hospital’s history. PRIME enabled the hospital to serve the community through the delivery of quality healthcare in a modern facility supporting an enhanced healthcare experience.
