Lonza Chemical Company Manufacturing Facility Expansion

The 45,000 sq. ft. addition allowed expansion of the manufacturing area. The building construction is a pre-engineered steel frame with metal siding and is fully installed with sprinklers. The reconstruction of the 544 sq. ft. building accommodates the plant’s new dryer unit. A structural concrete mat foundation with new steel columns was designed for installation within existing metal clad walls. The existing roof was removed, and the steel columns were extended approximately 18 feet above the original structure to allow an interior vertical space of 59 feet for the equipment. New intermediate floors and access mezzanines were designed around the equipment.
