Third Annual TechTalks Symposium is a Success for LDG

Larson Design Group held its third annual TechTalks symposium with staff across the company joining the TED talk-style event created to share and celebrate technical expertise and innovation in architecture and engineering.

Attendees benefit from the shared solutions or improvements to complex challenges faced in projects or processes. These ideas can be applied in future projects as we look to continuously deliver on our core values of client service excellence and innovation.

This year, employees were selected from our transportation, energy, education, water/wastewater and BIM/CAD administration teams to present in a mix of 10- and 5-minute sessions.  The presentations included topics such as Model-Centric Transportation Design, Pipe Strain As-Builts from Point Cloud Surveys, Power of Proximity, Innovation in Education Facilities, Modern Pipe Inspection, Hands on with Clarity and Constructability Review Process Improvements.

“We spend much of our time heads-down on projects. The annual TechTalks event provides an opportunity to step outside that individual day-to-day and talk about the bigger picture of providing innovative solutions,” said John Garczynski, Senior Engineer on the LDG Highway team and lead for the 2022 TechTalks Planning Committee. “We have rich technical expertise across our organization and it’s important to share that knowledge and celebrate our accomplishments.”

About TechTalks

TechTalks was created in 2020 by the Prodigy Program, one of LDG’s leadership development programs. Participants wanted a way to highlight and celebrate technical-level staff and knowledge leaders within LDG, while promoting the most up-to-date industry-related technologies, equipment, processes, and software that are being utilized at the company. Each year, a cross-functional committee across the organization plans and hosts the annual TechTalks symposium. The intentional mix of experience and fresh ideas had led to positive evolution and growth each year.
