LDG Helps Secure More than $34 Million in Water Infrastructure Grants for Clients

CORNING, NY – Larson Design Group (LDG) is proud to have successfully assisted several clients in the Southern Tier region in obtaining $34.3 million in recently announced New York Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WIIA) grants.

LDG’s Water/Wastewater team, based in Corning, worked to secure grants for five projects across Steuben, Chemung, and Cattaraugus counties: Distribution and Storage Upgrades for the Village of Addison; Phase 1 Distribution Improvements and Generators for the Village of Bath; Chemung County WWTP Consolidation; and South and North Wellhouse Improvements & Howard Street Water Main Replacement, as well as Wastewater Improvement Projects, for the Village of Franklinville. The amounts range from $1 million to $25 million and represent significant portions of project funding.

“LDG was proud to continue our successful, long-standing relationships with local municipalities and assist with these grant applications,” said Greg Cummings, LDG’s Director of Water/Wastewater. “It’s great to see that essential funding has been secured to help communities move their important infrastructure projects forward.”

Statewide, the 2022 grant program totaled $638 million in project funding, the largest-ever award of WIIA grants. The WIIA provides competitive grants to help municipalities fund water quality infrastructure projects. Grants are available for wastewater and drinking water projects that protect or improve water quality and/or protect public health. Municipalities may submit applications for multiple projects, including wastewater, sewer and drinking water projects.
