Stewardship Stories: LDG Pitches in for Volunteer Cleanup along Three Rivers Heritage Trail

Stewardship Stories share the experiences of our employee owners as they give back to the communities in which they live and work through financial support, volunteer commitments, and more.

PITTSBURGH, PA – In keeping with its long-held tradition of community stewardship, more than a dozen team members from Larson Design Group (LDG), an award-winning, employee-owned architecture, engineering, and consulting firm, volunteered for a recent maintenance effort along the scenic Three Rivers Heritage Trail.

LDG employees teamed with colleagues from Traffic Planning & Design, a Pittsburgh-based civil engineering firm, to provide several hours of trail maintenance and cleanup, including weeding, landscaping, and graffiti mitigation. The annual, volunteer-led undertaking is a project of Friends of the Riverfront, a Pittsburgh nonprofit that builds and maintains more than 33 miles of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail and Water Trail.

Damon Rhodes, Pittsburgh Office Leader, said, “Our Pittsburgh office has always been interested in our city’s vibrant riverfronts and in making new friends. To that end, it was only natural for us to team up with Friends of the Riverfront for this most excellent day of trail stewardship!”
