PITTSBURGH, PA – Larson Design Group (LDG), an award-winning, employee-owned national architecture, engineering, and consulting firm, is proud to welcome Ross Buchan, PE, a veteran engineer with more than two decades of experience, as our new Director of Highway.
Ross brings extensive familiarity with transportation engineering to LDG, having led complex projects across the country for local, regional, and state agencies. His extensive background in safety and traffic operations, signal and ITS design, multimodal planning, and transportation policy, coupled with his strong strategic mindset and collaborative approach, make him an excellent fit to lead the department and continue LDG’s strong legacy in the competitive Transportation market.
In his role, Ross will oversee project delivery and team leadership, ensuring technical quality, client satisfaction, and internal growth across the Highway Design practice. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and is based in LDG’s Harrisburg office.

Ross takes over from our previous Director of Highway, Max Inkrote, who retired in August after 33 years with LDG. Max was instrumental in building the strong foundation that the Highway team stands on today, and LDG is thankful for his exceptional career and service.
