While Joe L. Romano IV, highway engineering director with Larson Design Group’s Lititz office, has been a member of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) since 2014, he recently decided it was time to take his participation up a notch.
ARTBA is a prestigious national group based in Washington DC which advocates for state and federal transportation infrastructure investment and policy issues, construction safety and economics.
Romano made it known to ARTBA’s leadership that he wanted to be more involved with the group behind the scenes, and in October, he was elected to ARTBA’s Board of Planning and Design at the national level.
“Joe has always been a local advocate for the Transportation Industry and I am pleased that he has this opportunity to participate at the National Level,” said Stevan Wilver, Vice President of Transportation for LDG. “Joe brings not only a depth of knowledge to his position as a board member for an organization that’s vital to our industry, but also strong leadership skills within the transportation division and LDG as a whole.”
As an organization, ARTBA brings together people with construction and transportation experience from around the country to discuss issues and share information; Romano called it a “think-tank” for the industry.
