CORNING, NY – Larson Design Group (LDG), an award-winning, employee-owned national architecture, engineering, and consulting firm, is pleased to welcome Kristin VanHorn, AICP, LEED, as Project Manager on our Planning & GIS team. Her impressive career has given her a wealth of knowledge that will translate into companywide benefits for LDG.
In addition to Federal planning experience, Kristin was Director of Planning for Schuyler County, NY, from 2013-2023, a role in which she advised the County legislature, town, and village leadership on planning and local government issues. She also has experience with grant applications and management; existing condition documents and drawings for environmental, cultural, and operational resources; analyzing and organizing data; advocating for necessary upgrades to infrastructure including water, wastewater, and broadband expansion; and acting as a consultant to local business leaders, industries, and various other groups and agencies regarding planning and development.

“We are very excited to have Kristin join our team. She is among a limited group of planners who have experience that ranges from military master planning to local community developments,” said Wes Baker, LDG Director of Planning & GIS. “We have already begun to incorporate her skillset within our international projects, as well as those close to home.”
In her role, Kristin will be responsible for managing a variety of planning projects and expanding the portfolio of LDG’s Planning & GIS team, having already commenced work on several Federal planning projects for LDG. She will draw on her years of planning experience from the local government perspective to help us expand our expertise across streetscapes, feasibility studies, grant applications, and various other planning initiatives.
