Tom is a retired U.S. Navy Captain and a results-driven leader with nearly 30 years of experience in developing relationships and applying management and engineering skills to plan, design and construct complex, critical infrastructure.
The foundation of Tom’s impressive career was his military service. As Executive Officer, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southeast, Tom managed more than 2,000 engineers, designers, planners and technicians delivering over $1.4 billion in annual architecture and engineering services. His managerial, communication, and team-building skills transitioned seamlessly into the private sector, including in the role of Director of Strategic Accounts at a major design-build construction firm, where he was integral to $80 million in sales in a single year for key Federal projects.
In his role, Tom is crucial to developing and implementing LDG’s expansion and long-term strategy in the NAVFAC and Department of Defense markets, with a focus on Navy military construction (MILCON) projects.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Engineering in Project Management from the University of Maryland. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Michigan, and is a co-author of “Risk-Based Decision Making for Terrorism Applications,” which describes the anti-terrorism risk-based decision aid (ARDA), published in the peer-reviewed Risk Analysis Journal.
