Chief Business Development Officer
Stephen Hammel has been named Chief Business Development Officer for Larson Design Group, a nationally emerging architecture, engineering and survey firm with 10 offices in four states. Hammel will lead LDG’s business development efforts, collaborating with each of its six business divisions in developing contracts with public- and private-sector clients by spearheading the company’s capture planning efforts and sales strategies.
In his 35-year career, Hammel has contributed to the development of several billions of dollars’ worth of design and construction across a spectrum of programs, ranging from the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to healthcare systems, universities and airports. He has built strategic business relationships with clients such as Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation, Valspar, and FedEx Ground, in addition to dozens of developers, private corporations, local municipalities, and other Federal clients.
Hammel, who will be located in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, previously held senior business development positions with two large architectural and engineering firms, a leading provider of program and construction management services and two design-build contractors. As well, while managing a Pittsburgh advertising agency office relocation, he obtained a firsthand client’s perspective about how to plan and lay out a project, work with designers and contractors and negotiate leases.
