Stephen Hammel

Chief Business Development Officer & Senior Vice President

With a career spanning more than 35 years, Steve brings experience and enthusiasm to his role with LDG, having cultivated a broad and comprehensive knowledge of how to drive growth and identify new sales prospects.

Steve joined LDG in 2018 after a standout career with industry giants like Michael Baker International, Burt Hill Kosar Rittelmann Associates, and URS Construction Services. He has contributed to the development of billions of dollars’ worth of design and construction projects across a spectrum of programs, including the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Energy, the Department of Veterans Affairs, corporate America, K-12 school districts, colleges and universities, and more.

His first experience in the industry was as a client, when the advertising agency for whom he worked designed and moved into new offices and Steve – who also holds a real estate license –served as the client representative. This experience and others have allowed him to occupy many seats at the table, from owner/client rep to architect, construction manager, and general contractor. This gives Steve the unique ability to walk clients through the entire process of building a project, viewing the situation from different perspectives, and educating them on the journey they are about to undertake.

In his role, Steve is responsible for leading LDG’s business development efforts, as well as collaborating with Operations in developing consultant-of-choice and trusted advisor relationships with clients throughout the United States by spearheading the company’s capture planning efforts and sales strategies.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Communications from Point Park University and has completed courses toward a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
