LDG Honored with ASHE Outstanding Highway Engineering Award

The Pittsburgh section of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) recently recognized Larson Design Group (LDG) with the 2022 Outstanding Highway Engineering Award for its work on the West Ohio Street Bridge Replacement.

Working with the City of Pittsburgh, project designer Michael Baker International, and contractor Allison Park Contractors, LDG’s Construction Inspection team supported the re-establishment for this critical connection in the city’s northside by providing construction administration and construction inspection services.

The Outstanding Highway Engineering Award honors projects within a 125-mile radius of downtown Pittsburgh each year in categories based on their total construction costs. The West Ohio Street Bridge Replacement was awarded in the $7M or less category.  Projects are evaluated on their complexity, application of techniques, originality/innovation, social and economic considerations, safety, aesthetics and sustainable features, and meeting/exceeding client needs.

“We’re grateful to the City of Pittsburgh for the opportunity to support their transportation projects and honored to receive this recognition from ASHE Pittsburgh. Our team provides exceptional coordination and execution on projects critical to the mobility of regions like Pittsburgh,” said Joseph Romano IV, Vice President of Transportation at LDG. “We look forward to continuing to deliver for our clients.”
