CORNING, NY – Larson Design Group (LDG) is pleased to announce the promotion of Kristin VanHorn, AICP, LEED, to Director of Planning & GIS.
Kristin brings extensive experience in managing federal and local projects, including securing and administering grants, analyzing and organizing complex data, advocating for necessary upgrades to infrastructure including water, wastewater, and broadband expansion. She has a proven track record of collaborating with clients, government officials, and community leaders, providing strategic consulting on planning, development, and project implementation.
In addition to these skills honed with LDG, Kristin brings the knowledge and experience of serving as Director of Planning for Schuyler County, NY, from 2013-2023, a role in which she advised the County legislature, town, and village leadership on planning and local government issues. She is also active in professional development and planning organizations, serving as a thought leader and speaker at events and conferences.
Kristin will lean on these experiences and others in her role as Director, continuing the growth of the team and its capabilities and overseeing the delivery of our professional services in the Master Planning, Programming, and Transportation Planning disciplines. She also is responsible for the leadership, growth, development, and advancement of those employees.

Kristin holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Pennsylvania State University and a professional certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). She is based in LDG’s Corning, NY office.
