Employee Spotlight: Keith Bianco

At Larson Design Group (LDG), we believe that our employees are our greatest asset. Meet Keith Bianco, Senior Designer, who is based in our Corning, NY office.

What drew you to apply to LDG?

In 2009 the small engineering firm I worked at for over 20 years closed its doors. I sent a resume to LDG and 3 days later was called for an interview. In 2019 I left LDG for another firm. I came back 14 months later. I learned that the grass is not always greener. What drew me back was the 100% ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) but more importantly, it was the people in the Corning office that brought me back. They are a talented group of people and a joy to work with.

What do you enjoy most about working for an employee-owned company?

Accountability. The better we all perform, the stronger the company becomes, and we all share in the success of LDG rather than just making a profit for one or a few individuals.

Before joining LDG, what was the most interesting or unique job you had?

While in college, I worked the night shift in a pillow factory stuffing pillows.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I am from Punxsutawney, PA (home of the groundhog) and spent over 20 years working in the coal and gas industry in western PA – mostly in surface mine permitting work.

Which one of LDG’s core values do you most identify with and why?

Teamwork. The LDG Corning office is a great place to work because of the people. We all get along, care about each other, and are willing to help one another. We all work together for a common goal, which is client satisfaction.
