Employee Spotlight: Jessica Ciaccia

At Larson Design Group (LDG), we believe that our employees are our greatest asset. Meet Jessica Ciaccia, Associate Project Manager, who is based in our Columbus, OH office.

What drew you to apply to LDG?

I saw what I thought might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to build something new with people that I already knew, trusted, and loved working with. So, I took a chance to be only the third person through the doors of our Columbus office.

What do you enjoy most about working for an employee-owned company?

That your opinion matters. That your values matter. That you’re heard no matter how large the audience. And that the incentive to be successful is there for everyone.

Before joining LDG, what was the most interesting or unique job you had?

Now that I’m a bit older my answer to this question is different than what it used to be. My most memorable job, and one that I am most thankful for, was when I worked for my grandfather at his small business HVAC company, hand-drafting residential ductwork for him and my uncles. It was my first exposure to MEP design and the hours I got to spend with him there over summers and weekends home from school were priceless.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I’d say I’m an open book. Other LDG folks outside of my studio may not know that I’m a mother to three small children ages 7, 5 and 2. They keep us busy all the time and I think we’re in the most fun phase of life yet.

Which one of LDG’s core values do you most identify with and why?

I think I identify most with Performance, which must go hand-in-hand with Teamwork. I am happiest at work when our team is producing quality work, our deliverables are on schedule, and the client feedback is positive. I feel most confident at work when I’m organized and I feel in control (as much as possible) of the whirlwind around me that is retail. I feel very proud of the team that we’ve built together and all the seemingly impossible hurdles we’ve been able to overcome together.
