OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Larson Design Group (LDG), an award-winning, employee-owned national architecture, engineering, and consulting firm, is proud to be leading the design of a new, state-of-the-art Wellness Center for the Oklahoma National Guard (OKNG) at the Oklahoma City Military Complex.
Alongside representatives from the National Guard, Oklahoma legislature, Oklahoma Military Department, and partner Flintco Construction, LDG took part in a recent groundbreaking ceremony for the 32,000-square foot facility, which is expected to be complete in late 2025. The new center has the goal of expanding focus on “two primary functions, including physical and mental fitness,” according to the OKNG.

Tell us more about LDG’s role in the project.
LDG is providing project management, landscape architecture, architecture, interior design, and mechanical and electrical design. This project is a reflection of LDG’s multi-disciplined offerings and collaborative approach.
What elements or themes are incorporated into the design?
Aligning with the goals of providing a holistic health facility, the new building will be LEED- and Well Building-certified and will be split into three distinct areas: a physical fitness wing, a mental health wing, and a multi-faith chapel. The project also includes exterior amenities such as improvements to current features, a new running track with shaded cool-down area, and a meditation garden with new landscape architecture elements that take inspiration from the properties of healing, resilience, and connection to nature.
