LDG Wins Esri Partner Award for Outstanding Client Collaboration

Larson Design Group (LDG) is proud to announce that its Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team has garnered a prestigious award from Esri, he world’s largest developer of GIS software and applications.

LDG was a winner of Esri’s IMGIS Conference 2021 Partner Award for Project Collaboration and Communication, in recognition of the company’s excellent working relationship with the Southeast Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority (SMCMUA). The SMCMUA identified a need to improve communications with its public officials, community leaders, and customers when working on large capital improvement projects, such as a $3.2 million renewal project for a water main that runs through the heart of the business district and high-density housing in the town of Morristown, New Jersey.

The solution offered by LDG was an ArcGIS-driven Project Hub, a visual representation of the project and the ability to tell its story through maps, applications, and interactive features. This platform is a centralized location that can effectively communicate critical project information in real time – everything from which services will be disrupted to which residents will be impacted by construction activities and when.

The success of the Hub has been immediate and measurable – SMCMUA is about halfway through the replacement project, and the hub site has been a huge success in keeping the community informed of the project impact and disruptions. In the first six months, the site had 15,000 views by the public. The site continues to be viewed, resulting in very few calls from the public with questions.

“This award signifies that LDG’s core values of client service excellence, innovation and teamwork are more than just words on our website,” said Gary Sheets, LDG Vice President of Infrastructure. “The SMCMUA Project Hub is a perfect example of what can be accomplished when we work collaboratively to define the complexities of a program and find a solution that meets the needs of every stakeholder.”

The project has proven to be so beneficial to the general public and SMCMUA that, in addition to LDG’s Partner Award, Esri has also highlighted it as a Case Study on its website.
