Employee Spotlight: Ben Riddle

At LDG, we know that our people are our greatest asset. Employee Spotlights highlight those who make LDG’s success possible and the trusting partnerships that drive knowledge and encourage collaboration. Meet Ben Riddle, Associate Project Manager, who is based in our Phoenix, AZ, office.

What drew you to apply to LDG?

I was looking to make a switch to a more balanced company. I was interested in LDG because of the work/life approach and the diversity in the types of projects they were involved in. I had previously worked with my supervisor, so it was an easy switch.

What do you enjoy most about working for an employee-owned company?

Employee-owned companies are great because we really do have ownership of the company. The better you perform, the better the company does, and it’s nice to benefit directly from providing high quality service.

Before joining LDG, what was the most interesting or unique job you had?

My first job was on a landscape truck. I mowed lawns, sprayed weeds, and raked gravel. It was a job I did over the brutal heat of Phoenix summers to make a few dollars as a teenager. I would wake up at 3:30 in the morning and get to the yard at 4 am. I didn’t know how much a person could sweat until I had that job. I only last two summers.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I take part in a lot of outdoor activities. I’ve gone tent camping twice a year with the same group of friends for the past 12 years. I also go mountain biking three to four times a month and play basketball with friends once a week.

Which one of LDG’s core values do you most identify with and why?

Teamwork. I enjoy working in a team to get a project completed. I particularly like everyone putting ideas out to come to the best solution.
