At LDG, we know that our people are our greatest asset. Employee Spotlights highlight those who make LDG’s success possible and the trusting partnerships that drive knowledge and encourage collaboration. Meet Christian Hess, Director of Business Intelligence, who is based in our Pittsburgh, PA office.
What drew you to apply to LDG?
The creation of the Business Intelligence role at LDG presented a unique opportunity for me to fully utilize my knowledge, skills, and abilities in contracts/subcontracts management and software architecture at a growing employee-owned company.
What do you enjoy most about working for an employee-owned company?
ESOP companies enjoy several benefits, including participation in our growth through stock ownership, as well as greater insight, transparency, and input into our finances and future direction. Further, the employees at LDG feel a sense of ownership, pride and personal responsibility for the growth and success of the enterprise at large and for each other.
Before joining LDG, what was the most interesting or unique job you had?
From 2008 through 2016, I served as the Subcontracts Manager at Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), responsible for a $200M portfolio of Federal subcontracts under the Navy SeaPort-e Program in support of the Naval Sea Systems Command. This position provided wide ranging exposure to a host of federal contracting challenges and solutions which have proven extremely valuable over a long period of time.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I am married with three children (all boys!). I am also an avid trader of stocks, bonds, options, and futures, and enjoy following new developments in the economy and various markets.
Which one of LDG’s core values do you most identify with and why?
Innovation. As a software architect and developer, I am excited that LDG champions the value of innovation and how innovation is essential for the growth and success of the company.
