OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Larson Design Group (LDG) is proud to announce that the Oklahoma National Guard Wellness Center has received a 2026 Award of Merit for Excellence in Sustainability from Engineering News-Record (ENR) Texas & Southeast.
The annual ENR Texas & Southeast Best Projects program recognizes outstanding projects throughout the region, including honors specifically focused on Excellence in Safety and Excellence in Sustainability. An independent panel of industry experts reviewed 51 projects to select this year’s Best Project and Award of Merit recipients. The Oklahoma National Guard Wellness Center was submitted for consideration by Flintco, LDG’s construction partner on the project.
LDG served as the Designer of Record for the 20,566-square-foot Oklahoma National Guard Wellness Center, delivered through a design-build partnership with Flintco and the Oklahoma Military Department. Designed to support 24/7 operations, the facility brings physical fitness, behavioral health, and spiritual wellness resources together under one roof to support the readiness and well-being of Oklahoma’s service members.

Sustainability and occupant well-being were integral to the facility’s design. Natural light, nature-inspired materials, and connections to therapeutic outdoor spaces help create a restorative environment, while the facility’s integrated approach to wellness supports the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people it serves.
The Wellness Center includes fitness classrooms and equipment, counseling and desensitization spaces, chaplain offices, a multi-faith chapel, a running track, and a meditation garden.
This latest recognition follows the project’s from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), further recognizing the collaborative approach behind the Oklahoma National Guard Wellness Center and the project team’s commitment to thoughtful, high-quality design.
“This award is a reflection of the entire project team’s commitment to thoughtful, sustainable design,” said LDG Program Manager Martin Martinez. “We’re proud of what we accomplished together.”
LDG congratulates the Oklahoma Military Department, Flintco, our employee-owners, and all project partners on this recognition and is proud to have contributed to a facility designed to support the readiness, resilience, and long-term well-being of Oklahoma’s service members.
