Larson Design Group hires new Vice President of Infrastructure Group

Larson Design Group (LDG), an emerging national architecture, engineering, geospatial and planning firm headquartered in Williamsport, Pennsylvania is excited to welcome David Schaarsmith, PMP, LEED AP BD+C, AICP, as Vice President of its Infrastructure Group. Dave brings more than 20 years of experience in planning and engineering consulting to LDG, including a track record of growth and operational excellence and a wealth of knowledge in resource management, military master planning and programming.

Based out of the Wexford office, Dave will oversee the Water/Wastewater, Geospatial, Energy and Planning teams and is responsible for overall performance of the group, ensuring that goals for sales, profitability and sustainable growth are met.

“As we continue our core business growth and strategic expansion in the Federal market, we are extremely pleased to have Dave join the team. Someone of his caliber, who is a national subject matter expert in planning – will be a tremendous asset to LDG,” said COO Dave Martin. “LDG is now positioned as a national leader in master planning for the military.”

Dave comes to LDG most recently from Michael Baker International, where, over the last year, he served as Pittsburgh Transportation Practice Executive and Northern California Office Executive and was responsible for business strategy, client development, staff development and operational oversight for several of the firm’s departments.

For most of his Michael Baker career, Dave served as a Planning Practice Executive, Program Manager and Planner in Pittsburgh Planning Practice. During that time, Dave grew the practice and diversified Michael Baker’s client base to include planning efforts for Air Force Civil Engineering Center, Global Strike Command, Customs and Border Protection and US Army Installation Management Command, as well as local planning clients. Dave’s efforts to expand the practice were instrumental to formation of the Pittsburgh Urban Design Studio at Michael Baker.
