Larson Design Group (LDG) provided design services for Sunbury Community Hospital between the periods of February 2003 and November 2004, for both renovation and new construction.
Project types include extended stay adult care, extended stay psychiatric care, and general patient care, outpatient and office facilities. LDG’s in-house team developed all areas of design including architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and site designs. Mechanical and electrical designs were developed based on current state, local, and Department of Health (DOH) code requirements. Mechanical and electrical system designs included HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, medical gas distribution, electrical normal and emergency power distribution, electrical normal and emergency lighting, fire detection and alarm initiation, nurse call, wandering patient monitoring, telecommunications, and sound systems. The life safety systems were developed based on DOH regulations, NFPA requirements and a “defend in place” design approach, requiring integration with the smoke control, wandering patient, and automatic door closure systems.
Larson Design Group’s multidiscipline organizational structure allowed smooth transition of services throughout these contracts.
