Matt Nealis, PE, CEM, LEED AP
Project Manager - Mechanical
We offer quick turnaround on CNG projects and experience with permitting. You can be confident that we are experts and can provide you cost-effective solutions.
As the leader of LDG’s mechanical engineering group, Matt has supervised some of LDG’s most exciting, cutting-edge and award-winning projects. Among them is ENR’s 2016 “Best Energy/Industrial Project” in the southwest for the 110,000 sq. ft. Southern Nevada Recycling Center for Public Services in Las Vegas, NV. Another is the Trillium CNG program named as the Engineering Society of Western Pennsylvania’s 2018 “Most Innovative Project” and praised by PennDOT Secretary Leslie Richards for its ability to “generate a market for abundant, cleaner burning natural gas [which is] delivering improvements for the people of Pennsylvania.”
Matt supervises a team of LEED-certified professionals who serve the transportation facility needs of other large national clients, among them Frito-Lay and Waste Management. The group designs highly efficient HVAC systems which save significant energy costs for clients as well as help them analyze the financial lifecycles of their equipment. For one client, their recommendations generated a per-project savings of about $400,000 in construction costs by eliminating critical areas of potential over-design and inefficiency.
A passionate advocate for the benefits of compressed natural gas systems, Matt is a recognized authority on CNG fueling facilities for transit fleets in Pennsylvania and has presented at a wide range of CNG and natural gas vehicle conferences nationwide. He serves on a CSA Group committee (formerly the Canadian Standards Association) which is writing the code for national adoption of CNG fuel technology. He has been quoted in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about the benefits of CNG-fueled fleets on the environment.
