Larson Design Group (LDG) is pleased to announce that Jeremy Whitmoyer, PE has attained a certification in Structural Engineering (SE).
Whitmoyer is a project engineer in the Facilities & Building Engineering department of LDG’s Williamsport office. The SE exam tests for a minimum level of competency in structural engineering. It is designed for engineers who practice in jurisdictions that license structural engineers separately from other professional engineers. The 16-hour exam uses separate vertical and lateral components to test an engineer’s ability to safely design buildings or bridges, especially in areas of high seismicity and high wind.
“With his new certification, Jeremy will be able to become licensed in western states, some of which have more stringent requirements for working on buildings above 30 feet in height,” said Dan Manns, director of facilities & building engineering at LDG. “As Jeremy becomes licensed in other states, we’ll be better poised to serve new and existing clients in a broader geographic footprint.”
Whitmoyer has worked for LDG since 2005. He has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Penn State University.
