LDG Welcomes Daya Irene Taylor as Education Design Lead for Florida and Senior Project Manager

Larson Design Group (LDG) is pleased to announce that Daya Irene Taylor, PH.D., AIA, NOMA has joined the firm as Educational Design Lead for Florida and Senior Project Manager.

With more than 24 years of experience in architectural design, project management, and construction administration, Daya brings extensive expertise in K–12 educational facility design and delivery. Throughout her career, she has partnered closely with school districts and educational systems to create environments that support student success while meeting complex operational, regulatory, and stakeholder requirements.

Daya’s extensive understanding of educational design standards, including Florida Department of Education requirements, SREF standards, and Florida Building Codes, strengthens LDG’s ability to deliver high-quality, compliant, and thoughtfully designed learning environments across the state.

In her role, Daya will help lead educational projects throughout Florida while supporting the continued growth of LDG’s education market presence. Her experience spans the full project lifecycle from pursuit and proposal development through design, construction, and project closeout bringing clients a strategic and collaborative approach to project delivery.

In addition to her technical expertise, Daya’s background includes both owner’s representation and design leadership roles, giving her a unique ability to anticipate challenges, advocate for client priorities, and align design quality with schedule and budget expectations.

She also brings a strong commitment to mentorship and professional development, helping project teams elevate performance through collaboration, best practices, and technical excellence in educational facility design.

Daya’s credentials further distinguish her within the industry. In addition to being a licensed architect in Florida, she holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Law, providing a rare combination of architectural expertise and educational insight. Her leadership experience includes serving as Interim Dean and Professor of Architecture at Tuskegee University and as Department Chair at Hampton University, along with active involvement in professional organizations and community initiatives.
