LDG Volunteers to Develop Nature Park and Trail for Senior Living Community

As part of its continuing efforts to be a valuable part of the communities in which it operates, Larson Design Group (LDG) recently worked with Albright Care Services, a senior living community in York, on its nature park and trail, providing several planning, layout and permitting services free of charge. The project is a joint effort between West Manchester Township and Albright Care to promote nature and walking through not only the Albright campus itself, but the area of West Manchester Township in York County.

The park had its groundbreaking on Aug. 19 at the Normandie Ridge campus of Albright Care, which also has locations in Williamsport, Lewisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and Watsontown. LDG assisted with concept planning and construction costs, including layout of the ADA-compliant trail, working with West Manchester Township for permitting and regulations, and providing renderings for Albright to assist in their financial campaigns, said Chris Sheaffer, Project Manager in LDG’s Site department. Sheaffer was directly involved with the project and assisted with layout, estimates and permitting oversight.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Albright Care for the past 10 years, and especially working on a project like this,” Sheaffer said. “This project will not only can benefit the residents of Normandie Ridge but the residents of West Manchester Township.  I look forward to seeing this constructed and used by the residents.”
