LDG Teams with Penn College

In recent weeks, Larson Design Group employees have presented for Penn College architecture students several times. Over 25% of current LDG employees are graduates of Penn College, and we are always eager to share our knowledge with students who are interested in pursuing careers similar to ours.

Most recently, we participated in Penn College’s Architecture Odyssey Camp for high school students interested in learning more about architecture, one of many summer camps hosted by Penn College. We took the students on a tour of our facilities and told them about the different job roles and responsibilities within an architecture firm. We also demonstrated 3D scanning and virtual reality goggles which are always a hit. One of our architects who specializes in LEED and sustainable design presented on a LEED Platinum Certified prototype building that LDG did for a major retail client.

Carol Lugg, assistant dean of construction & design technologies with Penn College, said, “At the conclusion of the camp, we discussed with the students the associate and bachelor degree programs. The Penn College graduates that presented to our group while on tour at Larson Design Group served as excellent examples for career opportunities from either the two-year or four-year program.”

Other recent presentations included a similar experience presented to the Penn College American Institute of Architecture Students club, and a presentation on 3D scanning and virtual reality technology to the faculty of Penn College’s architecture department.

Thank you to Penn College for allowing us to be a part of the learning experience.
