Williamsport, PA – Larson Design Group (LDG), an award-winning, employee-owned national architecture, engineering, and consulting firm, is extremely proud to share that a corridor of Interstate 180 in Lycoming County – home of LDG’s first office – has been renamed in honor of our late founder, Kenneth C. Larson, Jr.
Family, friends, former colleagues, along with state and local officials joined together on October 15, 2025, at Penn College’s Professional Development Center to celebrate Ken’s enduring legacy in regional infrastructure and community development with the unveiling of the Kenneth C. Larson Jr. Memorial Highway sign.
A Legacy Carved into the Landscape
State and local officials gathered to highlight the significance of Ken Larson’s contributions. State Senator Gene Yaw recognized Larson’s lasting impact on Lycoming County’s transportation systems, and Michael Carroll, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), emphasized the transformative effects of Larson’s work on corridors such as I-180 and U.S. Route 15. The stretch designated to carry his name extends from the Lycoming–Northumberland County line to the US-15 / I-220 interchange.
Attendees included state representatives Jamie Flick and Joe Hamm, who reflected on Ken’s dual commitment to public service in both the U.S. Navy Reserves and his career in transportation and design. Terry Krezmer, LDG’s Board Chair and long-serving human resources leader, spoke of Ken’s personal qualities — his mentorship, integrity, and devotion to people and place — traits that remain embedded in the culture of LDG today.
“Ken’s vision was never just about building highways— it was about people and building communities. He believed that success comes from surrounding yourself with good people, empowering them to do meaningful work, and never losing sight of where you came from. His values continue to guide LDG today, reminding us that every project we touch should make a lasting difference.” — Terry Krezmer, Board Chair and Chief Human Resources Officer, Larson Design Group

Personal Remembrances, Anchored in Values
Amidst the ceremony, Ken Larson’s granddaughter, Ashley Larson, offered memories that blended warmth and meaning. She recalled his laughter, his commitment to family, and a principle he held dear, “Never forget where you came from and the people that helped get you where you are today.”

These personal recollections underscored that Ken’s influence went beyond engineering and design — he invested in relationships, community, and the human dimension behind every project.
What this Dedication Means for LDG
For the 500+ professionals at LDG, this dedication is more than a symbolic gesture. It signals continuity — a reminder that the firm’s work is rooted in Ken’s ambition to strengthen regional resilience, stimulate growth, and retain talent locally. Naming this highway is a living testament to the notion that infrastructure is more than pavement: it is connection, identity, and stewardship. It challenges LDG’s current generation of employee owners to carry forward his ethos: build responsibly, design with purpose, and uplift communities through enduring infrastructure.
“Ken Larson laid the foundation not just for a company, but for a way of doing business—with heart, humility, and purpose,” shared David Martin, LDG President & Chief Executive office. “His influence continues to shape who we are and how we grow.”
