Employee Spotlight: Sarah Ulmer

At Larson Design Group (LDG), we believe that our employees are our greatest asset. Meet Sarah Ulmer, Engineering Associate, who is based in our Phoenix, AZ office.

What drew you to apply to LDG?

As my first real job out of college, I was excited to work for a company that cares about its employees, both in and out of the office. At LDG, work-life balance is not only preached, but practiced – and even more importantly, encouraged.

What do you enjoy most about working for an employee-owned company?

The passion to continually work towards making the company better. The better we are, the better the company does, and everyone benefits.

Before joining LDG, what was the most interesting or unique job you had?

While in college I held a handful of odd jobs, but my favorite was working in a café making crepes.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I’m a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves, where I work as an Engineering Officer. I’ve had many unique experiences, including traveling to Romania and Hawaii.

Which one of LDG’s core values do you most identify with and why?

Learning. Just starting my career, I have a lot to learn. There are so many opportunities and people to learn from at LDG. Continuous learning is a priority and everyone feels comfortable asking questions and helping one another.
