2022 President Award Winners Announced

Larson Design Group (LDG) is pleased to announce the winners of its annual President Awards, a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of its employee-owners.

The awards are presented to Employee-Owner of the Year and Project of the Year, and nominations – which represent a diverse mix of project types, LDG geographies, and staff across both Operations and Corporate Service teams – are entirely employee-driven. The 2022 awards saw its highest number of nominations in both categories, with 30 nominations for Employee-Owner of the Year and 13 for Project of the Year. By soliciting submissions from its employee owners, LDG shines a spotlight not only on individuals and projects, but on the company as a whole, from among the very team members who make the company’s success possible.

This year’s winners for Employee-Owner and Project of the year are:

Employee Owners of the Year: Andrew Kuzio, PE, and Coleman Gregory, PE

Andrew Kuzio, PE, an Associate Project Manager on the Water/Wastewater team based in the Corning, NY office, and Coleman Gregory, an Associate Project Manager on the Site team based in the Williamsport office, were honored as LDG’s Employee Owners of the Year.

In just a small sample of the praise that LDG team members expressed in nomination forms, Andrew “goes above and beyond for projects, clients and coworkers” and is “passionate, inspirational, humble, and kind.” Coleman was lauded for his “great work ethic and always [giving] his best” and for always being “open to listening and taking time to answer questions,” among other positive accolades.

“It was humbling just to be nominated alongside such smart and very talented people,” Andrew said in his acceptance speech. “This wouldn’t be possible without the folks who have helped me along the way in my career at LDG.”

Coleman echoed this sentiment in his speech, citing the need to “recognize the people around me, because none of what I do would be possible without them.”

Congratulations to Andrew and Coleman – they both exemplify the highest ideals of LDG and our core values,” said LDG President & CEO David Martin. “Their commitment to our clients, team and the community represents the best of what it means to be an employee-owner of LDG.”

Project of the Year: Kingfisher Junior High (Kingfisher, OK)

A result of the strong ongoing relationship between the project team – led by Jason Hukill in LDG’s Norman, OK office – and the school district, the new Kingfisher Junior High houses 7th and 8th grade students and is situated on a prominent town corner adjacent to the district’s existing high school. Several Main Entry and Media Center canopy elements, indicative of a windmill blade common on the OK landscape, pay homage to Oklahoma’s burgeoning wind, power and energy industries. The exterior masonry complements the adjacent high school building while the interior palette incorporates the district’s gold and navy blue throughout. Common areas have colorful portal elements to visually cue students through the building, and the common areas have various elements and patterns derived from a hexagon shape to represent a nest or hive, referencing the school mascot of the yellowjacket.

In his acceptance speech, Jason thanked everyone who nominated the project and called attention to the support of fellow team members Angie Clarkson and Jericho Kindsvater, whose work on the project was integral to its success.

“Congratulations to Jason Hukill and the entire project team for successfully completing this important project for the community of Kingfisher,” said David Martin. “This project demonstrates the passion, creativity and expertise of LDG to deliver excellent educational environments.”
