CVS Store #5467 in Fairfax, VA, is now LEED Silver Certified. The store is a custom design using a standard CVS building footprint.

LDG designed the building to meet rigorous LEED requirements while respecting the CVS prototype design.

This CVS/pharmacy is designed to use 30% less energy than an ASHRAE 90.1-2007 compliant baseline. Contributing to the energy efficiency is are high efficiency rooftop units and a low-energy lighting system. Water efficient plumbing fixtures in this store use 48% less water than those in a typical retail store.

CVS uses low-emitting materials in all stores; standard CVS finishes were used in the interior. The contractor followed stringent indoor air quality measures, and 99% of the waste was diverted from the landfill during construction.

Recycled content composed 12% and regional material was used for 30% of the materials.
