Columbia County Bridge #95 Rehabilitation

Larson Design Group (LDG) performed structural design services, permitting, project bidding, and construction administration for the rehabilitation of County Bridge #95 in Pine and Jackson Townships in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. The ends of the historic covered bridge’s timber queen post, timber low chord, and timber bearing members were deteriorating, threatening the bridge’s structural integrity and existing load posting. The rehabilitation involved constructing new reinforced concrete bridge seats at one abutment and removing and replacing the timber members, which required temporary jacking and support of the structure.
